11 Days! - Summercamp Music Festival 2012

In only ten days my official festival season will be kicking off by departing for Summercamp Music Festival 2012.

May 24th-27th marks the festivals 12th year and looks to be it's biggest turnout yet. Every year since 2001, moe. has headlined the festival and will be playing 5 sets over 3 days. Umphrey's Mcgee has been playing the festival since 2003 and has taken the co-headlining spot next to moe. They also will be playing 5 sets over 3 days! It's guaranteed to be one amazing weekend of music including many other great acts including: Janes Addiction, Primus, Michael Franti and Spearhead, and Pretty Lights just to name a few.

In my opinion, Summercamp has THE BEST lineup this year when put up against the other 3 festivals I will be attending this year. I am so excited to see some great music and see my festival family again!

Here is a playlist of all my videos from last year. I had a blast and can't wait to get you some better coverage this year :)

Major Chords for Minors - White out Party - Whites Bar

Last Sunday was a great day for local music. Whites Bar in Saginaw, MI hosted a benefit for Major Chords for Minors, a local non-profit organization that provides music lessons to children who cannot afford them. Over 10 bands played all day from 2pm-2am. I had a blast getting out and checking out some of the areas best talent. Here are the highlights.

The Banana Convention - I intended on shooting some video of their set but forgot my mic at home and had to just shoot some pictures.

There was a lot of music I did not get great video of, but check out my flickr photoset for pics of a few bands not listed.

The Holy Gun - Another great set from these guys. I cannot get enough of Ryan Fitzgeralds amazing bass playing and Ray Torres great guitar licks. There are two songs in this video, the second of which I have posted previously, but this one is amazing!

Loren Kranz and Friends - I am always excited to cover Loren's music when he gets the chance to slow down a little from touring non stop with The Ragbirds. There is a lot of talent from all the other bands that played who came together for these great collaborations.

Thick as Thieves - My second time covering this awesome group. They just got home from a short tour on the road. Their skills were sharpened and you could tell the music was pretty on point! Can't wait to work more with these guys in the future!

Sprout - I finally got to shoot these guys with my new camera. They have been spending some time in the studio working on getting a few songs recorded.
